Juvederm®
How does it work? Juvederm is also a clear gel “filler” which plumps up skin beneath wrinkles. It restores body to depressed areas and smoothes wrinkles. It can also be used to add fullness and definition to the lips.
How long does it last? Juvederm Ultra usually lasts 6-8 months but may last longer. Juvederm Ultra Plus may last 1 year or longer.
Is it safe? Only bona-fide product produced by Allergan, the manufacturer of Juvederm, is ever used. Dr. Krever is a licensed, board-certified physician who has been specifically trained in the use of these products. Both products consist primarily of a compound already found naturally in the body. They are not derived from any animal source and require no pre-testing.
Who should not use Juvederm®? Patients with very thin, loose skin usually do not have great results with dermal fillers. Juvederm has not been tested in pregnant women or nursing mothers and while there is no obvious medical reason this would pose a risk, it is not recommended.
How much does it cost? Juvederm comes prepackaged in single-use syringes. It is priced by the syringe used. The Ultra Plus formulation is slightly more expensive but longer lasting. Patients with deep wrinkles will typically require at least one syringe and will get the most dramatic and long lasting results with two or more. Click here for more on pricing. |
